Reilly trade coming?

 Maple Leafs could move Reilly in the offseason. 

Hey everyone, in today’s blog post we are heading to Toronto as according to a recent report from David Pagnotta the Leafs may soon have a conversation regarding the future of on of their best Defenders in Toronto.

So Pagnotta mentions that he doesn't think this will happen this year, but maybe in the off-season after the Maple Leafs season ends, he is hearing that the Maple Leafs will have a conversation with Morgan Reilly about his future with the Toronto Maple Leafs, so that’s very interesting to note there. Now we have heard a little bit about Morgan Reilly over the past few months at various points, he is a solid top pair defensemen, and he’s a solid offensive guy. He's not had the greatest of seasons this year as his offensive numbers are not what they once were over the past couple of seasons in Toronto and that's led a lot of people to believe that with his offensive production going down and with Reilly not being the greatest defensive defenseman in the world, it might make a whole bunch of sense for the Leafs to move off of him.

Now Riley has been with the Leafs for quite a bit of time as I think since the start of his career he has been with the Leafs and on top of that Reilly has been a decent number 1/2 defenseman for that Leafs team, but it seems like with the Leafs trying to go in a different direction maybe a trade could happen at some point. It doesn't sound like it's going to be before the trade deadline, as it sounds like it's more of an offseason move. Now I have heard some people say maybe a team like San Jose could have some interest in the off-season because they are going to be looking for some defensive help with them most likely losing a couple of guys to free agency, so that may make some sense as a potential landing spot and I think there'll be a couple of other teams out there who are in desperate need of a top four defenseman who would love to add a guy like Morgan Riley. 

So we shall wait and see on that, no guarantees by any means that anything happens because he is a big piece of that Leafs blue line and would leave a bit of a hole, but I could definitely see some sort of a thing happen with Morgan Riley and the Toronto Maple Leafs in the off-season. So it does sound like David Pagnotta expects them to have a conversation and maybe in the offseason we could see a Morgan Reilly trade, and even though I'm not sure how likely a possibility it is, I could see Morgan Reilly start the 26 27 season in new colors.
