Bruins trading Peeke?

Bruins may look to deal Peeke by trade deadline.

Hey everyone, I’m today’s blog post we head back over to Boston as even though there has been a lot of talk about them wanting to add someone in the near future, according to a recent report they may also be open to dealing a UFA defender.

Now according to Shinwaza of the Athletic, he was recently talking about the Boston Bruins and he mentions that the Bruins might still be open to dealing a pending UFA defensemen in Andrew Peeke. Now, the Bruins are on the fringe of making the playoffs in the second wild card spot and there has been some talk about them adding some defensive help at some point, but there is some talk they could also try and move maybe a couple pending UFA’s and another name that was recently brought up was Viktor Arvidsson, although it doesn't seem they really want to move Arvidsson right now given how well he's been playing with the Boston Bruins, but that's another UFA who has a possibility to get dealt.

However Peeke is a very interesting potential trade option, now he was acquired from the Blue Jackets a couple of years ago at the deadline and he’s having a really good season with the Boston Bruins, so I wouldn't say it's a guarantee he gets moved. Now he’s got this year left on his contract before he becomes a UFA and I think his AAV is just over $2 million or something like that and he's a really serviceable third pair defenseman.

Now, he could be really good fit with the Boston Bruins, but if the Bruins do wind up acquiring a guy like a Justin Faulk or Dougie Hamilton or someone else like that, then maybe they try and look to flip a defensemen out as well and they could try and move him to try and improve their prospect pool or their draft capital, which I don't think would be a bad idea. Now I think they could get like a third round pick and  something else, or maybe even a second round pick for Andrew Peeke and I think they could potentially get that. So, I'm not going to say it's a guarantee by any means that the Bruins move him because they are in a playoff spot and Peeke is having a really good season with Boston, however if they don't feel like they can sign him and they are looking for a defensive upgrade elsewhere anyways, I definitely could see the Bruins move Peeke to a team who really does need some third pair defensive help.

So, we will have to wait and see on that, but we will have to keep an eye  the Boston Bruins as even though there is some talk of them adding they could also look to move a guy like Andrew Peeke before the deadline so we'll have to wait and see on that, and I would love to hear your guys thoughts on this situation down in the comments section below and don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel as well.
