Wings could move Talbot by deadline?

 Could Wings deal Talbot?

In today’s blog post we head over to Detroit as a recent report has mentioned that if the Wings are a bubble team come the deadline, they could deal a pending UFA goalie.

So according to a recent report from David Pagnotta, he was talking about a potential goalie option that could be on the trade market come the trade deadline and that is Cam Talbot. Talbot's in the Detroit Red Wings organization right now and he’s  in the final year of his deal and he has got a $2 million AAV. Now the Red Wings are just on the outside looking in right now of a playoff spots and they haven't had the greatest of starts since that six or seven game winning streak they had to begin the season as they have basically been mediocre since. So, they've definitely sort of come back down to earth a little bit.

So definitely we just talked about this in a recent video about how if the Wings are just on the outside and sort of a bubble playoff team they could look to move guys like Copp and Compher, but it seems another guy might be Cam Talbot. Now Talbot is currently the backup to John Gibson and he’s had a decent start this season. I think he's gotten into like 13 or 14 games and has been relatively all right numbers wise, not great numbers but not terrible either. So for teams out there who really need some goaltending help such as Edmonton who comes to mind, could there be a reunion with Talbot to try and improve Edmonton’s net? That's definitely a possibility. Then there's also a couple of other teams out there who could really use some strengthening of theie goaltending like Carolina maybe to some extent if Kochetkov and Andersen don't do overly well over the next couple of months, could Columbus look to try and add some goalending help, Could Philadelphia, could Pittsburgh, there's a couple teams out there, not a terrible amount, but there are definitely a couple teams out there who could really use some goalending help.

And a short-term stop gap option might be a Talbot if he comes available from the Detroit Red Wings for some of those teams. So we'll have to wait and see on that, but keep an eye on the Detroit Red Wings as I definitely think if they start to fall out of a playoff spot, they will sell off a couple of pieces and given the fact that Talbot’s not on an extremely expensive deal and with the veteran experience he brings, I could see him be dealt. So, we'll have to wait and see on that but just keep tabs on Talbot as we get closer to the deadline and also don’t forget to leave a comment below and check out my YouTube channel.
