Jackets and Bruins want Sherwood?
Hey everyone, in today’s blog post we are taking a look at a recent article that said that Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood is drawing a lot of interest including from a Metro and Atlantic division team.
So Aaron Portzline did an article a little while ago and he was talking about a couple of teams who could have some major interest in Kiefer Sherwood and he says that the Boston Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets could potentially have some interest. Now he says that the Jackets have checked in with the Vancouver Canucks potentially trying to make a deal to bring Kiefer Sherwood back to Columbus, I think he's either from Columbus or he's played in Columbus before so it'll be very interesting to see as Sherwood in their top nine would be a really solid addition.

Now imagine if the Jackets made the playoffs and they had both Kiefer Sherwood and Mathieu Olivier who both play playoff style hockey in their top nine, that would be really scary to face if the Jackets were by some miracle able to make the playoffs. Now once again the ask is a first round pick plus for Kiefer Sherwood. I'm not sure if the Jackets at this point in time with the competitiveness of the Eastern Conference would really be willing to pony up that sort of an asking price, but it’s very interesting to note there that they do apparently have some interest in trying to go after Kiefer Sherwood.
Now another team that might have some interest is the Boston Bruins as I think Elliotte Friedman even mentioned this on a 32 thoughts podcast or on Saturday Night Headlines as he says the Bruins do have some major interest in both Kiefer Sherwood and Connor Garland from the Vancouver Conucks. Now I still think that the Boston Bruins, well they've had a really good start to this season, it is not sustainable. So I don't think that the Boston Bruins should be trying to buy and I actually think they should be trying to sell. I know in this really competitive Eastern Conference, they still have a really good possibility to make the playoffs, but I just don't see this Boston Bruins team being able to do anything in the playoffs if they got there. So for a pending UFA who might not sign there and potentially having to give up a first round pick for him if would sting if they didn’t make the playoffs.
So I don't think that'll be the smartest move from Boston but Sherwood is a sort of Boston style player that Boston really does love to add. So we should wait and see on that. Like I said I think it makes more sense for Columbus's side than for Boston’s side, but I think with the competitiveness of the Eastern Conference I don't think either of these two teams are really willing to part with a first round pick as a asking price to go after a rental in Kiefer Sherwood at least at this point in time.
So keep an eye on Boston and Columbus when it potentially comes to Kiefer Sherwood as I think Columbus at this point in time in my personal opinion would be more likely than Boston even though Boston does like that sort of style of player that Sherwood plays, So we should wait and see on that but keep an eye on those two teams regarding a Sherwood trade, and I would love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments below and don’t forget to check out my YouTube Channel.
