Coleman back to Jersey?
Hey everyone in today’s blog post we are looking at the New Jersey Devils as according to some recent reports the Devils may target a role player instead of a star player and they could look at bringing back a former player who used to play with the Devils a few years ago.
David Pagnotta was mentioning the New Jersey Devils recently and he says that the Devils are probably not going to go after a superstar level player as he says they already have a couple of really star level players in their system with guys like Bratt, J.Hughes, Meier, Hischier, and a couple of other guys. So we’ve heard a lot of people, including myself, say they needed a top six upgrade to sort of round out that team, but according to Pagnotta, he says that he doesn't expect them to make some sort of a star level trade for guys like Robertson or Tuch or some of those other bigger names that we've been hearing about like Owen Tippett.
Now he says that they probably try and go after someone who is more of a role player, someone who could play second or third line minutes, someone that a lot of Stanley Cup winning teams have on their roster when they win cups and he says that a guy who they could potentially try and look at is bringing back Blake Coleman.

Now Coleman was originally a New Jersey Devil's player and in the final year of his deal a couple of years back, he was traded to Tampa where he wound up winning back-to-back cups with the Bolts, before he signed in free agency with the Flames and hasn't really done much with the Flames because Calgary has been a rather bad team, but he's got two years left on the deal, a $4.9 million cap, however the Devils have a tiny bit of cap space and not a whole bunch. So there would probably have to be some sort of a corresponding move there to bring in Coleman, but he could be a really solid addition to the Devis as I think he's got this year plus next year left on his deal at the $4.9 Million Cap hit.
So he couldn't just help them for this year, he could help them for a couple of runs in the playoffs. So we shall wait and see on that, but I think that could be a really solid addition for the Devils as they could put Coleman on your third line either as a left winger or a center and that would make that team scary lethal. And they could really roll three lines and be a really solid team. So we shall wait and see on that. No guarantees that they do go after Coleman, but David Pagnotta does link Coleman to New Jersey Devils as a possible trade option and does say they're more likely to go for a role player rather than go after a star studed player, So keep your eyes on Jersey to potentially go after a role player in the next few months, and I would love to hear your thoughts below and don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel.
