Stars moving Marchment, want Ekblad?

 Stars to move Marchment, landing spot tor Ekblad.

In today’s blog post we are looking at the Dallas Stars as we have two things to talk about when it comes to Dallas involving a middle six winger and a potential UFA target.

Now first when it comes to the Dallas Stars according to David Pagnotta he says that Mason Marchment is a potential player that the Dallas Stars could be trying to shop to try and free up some cap spaces, now we know the Stars are not in the best cap situation and they want to try and make some moves including keeping some UFA’s and they don't really have the cap space to do so, so Marchment is making I believe $4.5 million and I think he has two years left on his deal and he's been a really solid middle six forward.

Now is he worth the $4.5 million cap hit, i'm not exactly sure as I believe it might be a tiny bit of an overpayment, but he's been a really solid middle six forward, so I could see teams who could definitely use some more Middle six help definitely try and acquire Marchment and I definitely think that Dallas could get something in return for him even with the high cap hit so we're going to have to keep our eye on that, but Pagnotta does say that Mason Marchment’s name is out there and we have to watch out for Dallas potentially trying to alleviate some of their cap problems by moving Marchment.

Meanwhile when it comes to Aaron Ekblad, Jeff Marek was just speculating, once again no official rumors suggesting this, but Marek was speculating that the Dallas Stars may try and go after a guy like Aaron Ekblad in free agency, now of course it only makes sense if they have enough cap space to do so because Ekblad is one of the top free agents in free agency and will very likely be a name who is going to be targeted in free agency, but it makes sense as we know the Dallas Stars right side of the blue line is not overly good as you got Lyubushkin, Matt Dumba and Cody Ceci and that's not a right side of a defence that is going to win you very much cups.

So I can definitely see why they would have a ton of interest in trying to acquire a guy like Aaron Ekblad to maybe partner up with a guy like Miro Heiskanen on their second or top pair, I just don't know if they have the cap space to do so, but I can definitely see the fit and I definitely see where Marek’s head is at, but I just I don't know if they will have enough cap space to do so.

So we're going to have to wait and see on that but keep your eye on the Dallas Stars as if they are able to create enough cap flexibility they may be a really solid landing spot for Aaron Ekblad in free agency and may try to free up cap space by moving middle six forward Mason Marchment so we will have to wait and see on that.
