Could Oilers move Arvidsson?

 Oilers moving Arvidsson?

In today’s blog post we take a look at the Edmonton Oilers, as we talked about in our last YouTube video how Elliotte Friedman said there would be a market out there for the Oilers if they are looking to move Evander Kane and apparently according to David Pagnotta another name out there which isn't too surprising that the Oilers are looking to move is Viktor Arvidsson.

Now I think it's safe to say and I think most of you will agree with me, the Arvidsson signing was a terrible signing there for the Oilers as Arvidsson was injured all throughout the regular season and when he was healthy, he was more of a third or fourth line player instead of a top six guy and in the playoffs he did all right but he was healthy scratched a couple of times for the Oilers for guys like Jeff Skinner and Kasperi Kapanen, like that deal really never worked out there for the Edmonton Oilers as he is signed at $4 million for one more season and I think he also has trade protection so it's going to be a hard deal to get out of.

However trading away $4 million would free up a lot of the Oilers cap problems and would allow them to make a lot more moves, so I'm not going to say it's a guarantee that Arvidsson gets moved given how hard it'll be to trade Arvidsson, but it definitely does sound like Arvidsson’s name is out there according to Pagnotta and to me at least it makes a whole bunch of sense as Kane and Arvidsson I think are two biggest trade candidates for Edmonton with them trying to free up some cap space and given how poorly Arvidsson played last year I think it makes sense.

So very interesting to note there but keeping an eye on Viktor Arvidsson as there is a very likely chance that he will get moved and I completely agree with that given the bad contract Edmonton gave him and the fact that the Oilers need to free up some cap space.
