In today’s blog post we are looking at the Nashville Predators and Jonathan Marchessault as we've talked about a couple of Nashville Predators who could potentially be moved this offseason as I know in my offseason preview video I mentioned pending UFA’s such as Sissons and Bunting and potentially even a guy like Steven Stamkos but apparently another guy who could potentially be wanting out of Nashville after only one season there is Jonathan Marchessault.

Now according to Frank Seravalli, Marchessault could be open to a trade and potentially getting out of the Nashville organization, now he signed a 5-year deal I think it was at a $5.5 million cap hit with the Nashville Predators in the offseason last year, so he had a pretty good season this year as he had above 50 points and 25 plus goals so he had a pretty good season over in Nashville, but the Preds were an awful team as they finished bottom three in the NHL and  that team was quite awful this year.

So with that in mind Marchessault might not want to stay in Nashville especially if they have to go through a retool or rebuild and the return they could get for Marchessault might make some sense for the Predators, so I'm not going to say it's a guarantee by any means because Marchessault was one of their better players this year and I could see the Preds maybe try and keep him, but if the offer was right and it made sense and Marchessault really did want out, I could see it happen.

So when Frank was mentioning this he mentioned a potential landing spot as Montreal given the fact that Marchessault has connections to the Canadians, but on top of that Elliotte Friedman mentioned that he's played for Vegas, for Florida and he played for Nashville which are all no tax states so he thinks that if Marchessault was to get traded, which Friedman does think is a possibility, then maybe he could continue to try and go to a no tax state, so you're looking at teams like Seattle, Carolina, Dallas, Vegas or Florida, so maybe a reunion between Marchessault and Vegas is in the cards I don't know.

So at this point I could see Marchessault with the poor play from the Nashville Predators last year potentially wanting out and potentially wanting to get moved to a no tax state so we're going to have to wait and see on that but definitely watch out for a potential Marchessault move this offseason.
