Red Wings could go after Bennett in free agency.
In today’s blog post we are looking at the Detroit Red Wings as I have seen a couple of recent people including from Max Boltman of the Athletic saying that the Detroit Red Wings are a potential option for Sam Bennett and free agency should he get there.

Now Bennett like we have talked about is still in the playoffs and he's still trying to help the Panthers get past the Eastern Conference final and maybe back to their third consecutive Stanley Cup final so he's still focused on that, but Bennett is going to be a premium UFA in this year's free agent market and he's a really solid center, he can play second line minutes and he's not afraid to lay the body as he's a very physical type guy, but can also put up really good point totals as he can put up between 15 and 20 goals and like 40 to 45 maybe even 50+ points offensively and he's a guy who could be a second line center and produce some physicality and also put you up a whole bunch of points, so he's a very good package type player here and we've heard about him potentially going back to Calgary, we heard about him going and resigning in Florida and maybe Detroit's another option.
Now we've know that the Detroit Red Wings could definitely use another top six guy and really could definitely use a second line center and although we have heard them potentially be linked to Barzal and Pettersson in the trade market, maybe Bennett would be that for the Detroit Red Wings and I think it could work well with guys like maybe DeBrincat or Raymond on the Wings second line and could be a solid player that could add another element to that Red Wings offense.
So we're going to have to wait and see on this and that are no guarantees by any means that Bennett is going to head to Detroit or even if Bennett is going to leave Florida in free agency, but if he does hit free agency maybe expect Detroit to be one of the main teams interested in trying to acquire Sam Bennett’s services and maybe even pay him with a AAV of $7-8 Million so we will have to wait and see on that.
