Sen’s to add top 9 forward in offseason.

Ottawa to look to add a top 6 forward.

In today’s blog post we are looking at the Ottawa Senators as according to a recent athletic article I was reading, apparently the Senators writer on the Athletic was talking about the Sen’s and what they could try and be looking for this offseason and he wonders if they could look for forward help.

Now the Senators at this point are not looking towards the offseason as they’re in the first wild card position and would really like to try and make the playoffs this year as they’re not in a guaranteed spot by any means, but do still have a nice four-point cushion on the second wild card spot so they'll still need to win a couple of games to prove themselves and get them into that playoff spot, but when it comes to the offseason, he mentioned that there's a possibility the Sen’s could be looking for a top six winger.

Now I would say that's probably a good idea as they made some interesting moves at the deadline acquiring Fabian Zetterlund who I think is going to be a solid top nine forward for the Senators for this year and for the future and they acquired Cozens who is fitting in quite well as a second line center, so they're pretty much set down the middle, but I could definitely see them trying to add maybe one more winger.

Now a name that I have seen a lot of Sen’s fans and maybe not actual media but fans try and say the Senators should go after would be Brock Boeser, Boeser going to Ottawa would be a lethal fit there for the Senators and I'm not sure if they want to pay the money that Boeser is probably going to be looking for in free agency, but I could see something like that where they could get like a top six goal scorer and maybe someone who can play with Tim Stutzle to sort of be that fit they need on the top line, now they may already have it in Fabian Zetterlund so I'm not going to say it's a guarantee they'll go after a top six winger, but I can see the reason for them trying to maybe go after some offense this off season and I  Wouldn't be surprised if they maybe moved a guy like David Perron or if they didn't bring back Claude Giroux although I do think they will do that.

So we'll have to wait and see on that, but it does sound like the Sen’s might try and target some top six help in the off season as one of the things they'll be targeting, so we'll have to wait and see on that but keep your eye on some pending UFA forwards as the Senators may try and go after them in the offseason.
