Horvat back to the Canucks.
In today’s blog post we are taking a look at the Vancouver Canucks as i've seen this be brought up a couple of times both on twitter and on Canucks media and that said that the Canucks could try and target former Captain Bo Horvat and bring him back to Vancouver.
Now we know the Canucks Center group is not what it once was, like if you look at it from last year's playoff run they had Pettersson, Miller, Lindholm and Blueger and they were stacked down the middle and now with Pettersson out and with Chytil out you got Suter as your top line center and you got Blueger as your second line center so it's not an overly great center group right now in the Vancouver Canucks organization even if Pettersson was healthy, it's not the greatest of rooms so this Canucks team has already seemed like they will be trying to target a second line center in the offseason.
I mean ideally if you can have Pettersson as your 1, bring in someone new as your 2C and Chytil as your 3C then you are set down the middle again, so I think they'll definitely try and target someone in the center market this offseason, now when it comes to who they could target there's been a couple of people who've been mentioning some options that they could try and target, but one new name that seems to be coming up is Bo Horvat, he's got I think five or six more years left at $8.5 million cap hit and the only reason Horvat (who at the time was captain of the Canucks) was dealt was because they were having to decide whether to keep Miller or keep Horvat and which one they wanted to sign to a long-term extension and they wound up choosing to sign JT Miller to a long-term extension and they dealt Horvat.

Now horvat's had some decent seasons over in the islanders organization, but now that JT Miller was just traded a couple of months back, so with that now being solved do they try and bring back Horvat, I think that's a possibility and if they brought back Horvat as their second line center I think that could be a really good addition there for the Vancouver Canucks down the middle, so i'm not going to say it's a guarantee because I have no idea if the islanders really want to move him even though we've heard about them trying to move Pageau or Lee, I just don't know if they want to move Horvat too, but I do think if the Canucks could work out a decent enough deal like probably a first round pick and a decent prospect, I think they could try and work out something to try and bring back Bo Horvat to Vancouver.
So we're going to wait and see on that, but I have heard some recent rumblings that a good fit for the Canucks at the center position which seems to be a position the team will be targeting in the offseason may be Bo Horvat in the islanders organization so keep your eye on that.
