Domi becoming trade candidate in Toronto.
In today’s blog post we look Toronto Mark Leafs as according to the scores John Matisz was talking about the Maple Leafs and he says that Max Domi is a potential change of scenery candidate.
Now he says that Domi has not fit in overly well this year as he had a really good couple of weeks in December where he was putting up some points nicely, but hasn't scored a goal since that couple of weeks in December so it's been a really sour season in the first of a four-year deal for Domi and with the Leafs talking about potentially making some moves, as they have been linked to guys like Brayden Schenn, Scott Laughton and Brock Nelson up front and on the defensive end guys like Oleksiak and a couple of other guys they've been linked to as well and those guys are going to have really high cap hits and the Leafs don't have a whole bunch of wiggle room when it comes to the cap, so they may have to move off a player or two to make those sorts of deals work and it seems like Matisz is talking about Domi being one of those potential cost cutting moves.

Now he says that Domi is not fitting in overly well in the first of a four-year deal as he was brought in to be sort of a like third or second line player as he is a versatile guy who can play center and can also play Wing, and he fit in really well after the Leafs acquired him last year, so I think that the Leafs management thought that Domi was going to be a really good fit there, but he really hasn't been this year and that has led to a couple of people like Matisz saying that Domi could be a potential change of scenery candidate, now I'm not sure exactly what teams would want Domi at this point in time and like I said with the Leafs being in on a whole bunch of players with high cap hits I wouldn't be overly surprised if he was the cap Casualty that the Leafs would have to give up to a team in order to acquire one of those other players.
So we're going to have to wait and see on that, but keep your Max Domi as he has not been fitting overly well this year with Toronto and even though he has three more seasons left on his contract after this year, listen for Max Domi’s name to be on the trade rumour mill in the near future given how poorly of a season he's had for the Toronto Maple Leafs this year.
