 Donato or Tanev to Senators?

In today’s video we are looking at the Ottawa Senators as Bruce Garroich was recently talking about the Senators and he mentioned two players who the Sen’s may try and target before the deadline and they have been linked to recently and that is Hawks forward Donato and Kraken forward Brandon Tanev.

So now Brandon Tanev was linked to Ottawa back in the off-season, but that was when Chris Tanev was being rumored as a potential trade candidate for Ottawa so that Ottawa could try and go after and reunite the Tanev Brothers in Ottawa, but that didn't happen and now Chris Tanev is in Toronto, but that doesn't mean they still don’t have some interest, Brandon Tanev is a heart and soul type guy who works really well with any locker room and I think would be a really solid bottom six forward who can also put up some big goals, so I wouldn't be overly surprised if the Senators trade for him with Tanev being a pending UFA and the Kraken on the trend downwards, I think they could definitely try and trade him to Ottawa and get a decent return.

When it comes to Ryan Donato he's having himself a career year and I think he's already at 15 goals this year for the Blackhawks, so there's been a lot of talk that Donato will be moved and the Hawks will get a massive return and I think Ottawa could be a really good fit for Donato as he could  be on like the third or second line for Ottawa and could put in some goals and maybe be like another Adam Gaudette type player this year, who's been mostly a bottom six forward throughout his entire career, but can play higher in the Ottawa Senators organization, so I think it could be really good fit there for Donato.

So we're going to have to wait and see on that as there’s definitely a chance that Ottawa does go out and try and add some forward help before the deadline and with their forward group not being the best this year, Pending UFA guys such as Ryan Donato and Brandon Tanev could be major trade targets for the Senators, so we're going to have to wait and see on that but keep your eye on Ottawa as they may try and add some bottom six help.
