Penguins gearing up to make moves?
Today we are talking about the Pittsburgh Penguins as Elliot Friedman was talking about the Penguins recently and he says that the Penguins have made it known that some of their forwards, defenders and Goalies the Penguins would be open to moving.
So at this point the penguins are in the midst of a playoff race, they're in the heat of it with teams like Columbus, Ottawa, Montreal and Detroit so there's no guarantee that the Penguins will miss the playoffs, but with how many pending UFA’s they have and how poor of a start they had to the year there's a very good chance we will see many trades from the Pittsburgh Penguins before the deadline, Elliotte Friedman also says they wouldn't be opposed to maybe adding a couple of younger players to that team, so we're going to have to wait and see on that, but players such as guys like Anthony Beauvillier, Matt Grzelyck and like we just talked about Marcus Pettersson could all be names who are very likely trade candidates and even a couple of guys who have some term on their contracts, like say maybe Ryan Graves, Tristan Jarry or Maybe Rickard Rakell would also be a possibility to get dealt, so were going to have to wait and see on that.

So Elliotte Friedman does say there are definitely multiple forwards, defenders and goalies who the Penguins are open to moving, so were going to have to wait and see closer to the March 7th trade deadline what happens there and Friedman also mentions that although they only have $2 million in cap space right now, as soon as they move some of these Pending UFA’s and some of these bigger term contracts out they will have more cap space and with the ability to have more cap they would be open to taking on some bad contracts from other teams, as long as they are able to get either some really good draft picks or young prospects in return so were going to have to wait and see what happens with Pittsburgh.
So according Elliotte Friedman it does look like the Penguins are open for business and could be willing to move multiple pieces and will be willing to take on bad contracts so long as they be paid well, by getting draft pick’s or a young Prospect so were going have to wait and see what happens there, but the Penguins may be busy leading up to the March 7th trade deadline and may wind up making plenty of moves.
