Bjorkstrand and Burakovsky on the block for Seattle.
In this blog post we are looking at the Seattle Kraken as I was recently listening to Elliotte Freidman on his new 32 thoughts podcast and he was talking about a couple of things, but one thing that really did catch my eye was he was talking about the Seattle Kraken and he says that the Kraken are a very interesting team.
They’re slowly starting to fall out of the playoff race and I think they're now behind the Anaheim Ducks, so they're not looking overly good. At the very start of the season I thought they'd be in a race for a wild card spot with teams like Colorado, Utah, St.Louis and Calgary, but Calgary's been doing really well as has Colorado and Utah and St Louis have been doing all right, but Seattle's really started to fall off a little bit recently and Elliotte Friedman said that there's a very likely chance that they will be sellers and he's heard names such as Oliver Bjorkstrand and Andre Burakovsky out there as potential trade candidate for Seattle.
Now we've heard about Gourde and Tanev as both are Pending UFA’s and both are not on overly egregious contracts and at the contracts their on there's a very likely chance they get some decent returns for those two, but Burakovsky and Bjorkstrand are interesting, both have term on their contracts and I think Burakovsky has two or three years left on his contract at over $4 million, while Bjorkstrand I think has one or two years left after this year at over $4 million and both are decent middle six forwards, Bjorkstrand ever since coming into Seattle has been a fantastic fit, being basically a consistent 20 goal scorer and can put up 40 to 50 points and I think his peak is like a 30 goal season with like a 60-65 point pace, while for Burakovsky, he has not worked out overly fantastic and definitely been in the bottom six quite a few times in Seattle and I can see why they may want to move on from him.

Bjorkstrand is an interesting one so we're going to have to wait and see what happens there, like I said Seattle has started to fall out of the playoff race and if they get far enough out there's a very likely chance that this team is going to sell some players and Elliotte Friedman is hearing Bjorkstrand and Burakovsky’s name on the trade market so we're going to have to wait and see what happens there, like I said personally I could see Burakovsky get moved as he hasn't been an overly fantastic fit and given the fact this team has a whole bunch of really good forwards he could definitely be moved, Bjorkstrand is a little bit more of a puzzling name, like I said he still has some term left on his deal so unless they get a really good return for Bjorkstrand I don't think he gets moved, but we're going to have to wait and see because if there's a deal that blows away the Kraken maybe he gets moved so we're going have to wait and see on that but Elliotte Friedman does mention Burakovsky and Bjorkstrand’s name out there for the Seattle Kraken and those two may wind up being dealt at some point for Seattle so we will have to watch the Kraken going forward.
