Here are 3 potential Centers who might be good deadline adds for buyers.
We are nearing the deadline and there have already been 2 major deals involving top 6 Centers in Monahan and Lindholm which has made the Center market pretty thin right now, so that is why names we weren't really expecting to hear have started to come up such as Laughton and Jenner but there are a couple of other Centers that I feel may be good adds for teams who are buying at the deadline and may wind up being hot commodities come the deadline.

1-Nic Dowd
Now over the past few days we have heard Nic Dowd's name come up as a possible trade candidate in the Center market, Now Dowd isn't a solid top 6 Center like Monahan or Lindholm were, but he is a extremely good 4th line Center and I do think on the right team may be able to play 3C minutes and for teams who are pressed against the cap Dowd would also be a solid add as he Cap Hit is currently $1.3 Million for this year and next so he may become one of the leading candidates on the trade market.
Now he is having a solid season according to his play as he has 8 goals and 15 points so far in 43 games this year and his best season points wise in the NHL was 2 years ago when he hit 24 and he is on pace to be close to breaking it this year and if he went to a team where he could be a 3C I think he very well will have a new career high in points so he is having a solid season.
As for what the Capitals might want for him, the Cap's are currently in a position of being sellers as they are on a slump and falling out of the playoff race, so they could easily move Dowd and if they do i think they would probably want a high asking price, now I have heard some people say a 1RD pick but I think that is too high for a 4th or 3rd line center like Dowd, but I could see someone move a late 2nd round pick and a decent prospect in exchange for Dowd so it will be interesting to see but I could definitely see Dowd be moved for the right price and I could see a team like Boston or NYR have interest in him so we will have to see how that goes.

2-Alex Wennberg
Another name that has popped up over the past few days is Alex Wennberg, now just like Dowd, Wennberg isn't on the same level of a guy like Lindholm or Monahan who were dealt earlier in the year, but he is a lot closer then Dowd as throughout his tenure in Seattle, Wennberg has either been a solid 2C or 3C for them and has been a really good faceoff man and I think after Henrique he may very well be the next best rental Center available on the market and although his AAV is quite high as $4.5 Million, he is in the final year of his deal and I do think the Kraken would be open to retaining money on him to bump his AAV down so with all that in mind I think he may become a very sought after player.
Now offensively he hasn't had the best of years but is on pace to have a point total similar to his first two seasons in Seattle as he has 8 goals and 22 points and is on pace for around 35 points by seasons end which would be slightly worse then last years point total but his plus-minus is his best it has ever been in Seattle and I could still see a ton of teams have some major interest in him.
Now the Kraken have been up and down this year but currently they have fallen a few points out of a playoff spot and if they fall any further I would almost guarantee they would be sellers before the deadline so do to that fact I could definitely see Pending UFA's like Wennberg and Eberle, now as for what the Kraken might want in return, now there is a serious market out there for a Center and I don't see them getting a 1st like Montreal or Calgary got, but with teams like Colorado and NYR needing Center help I could definitely see them grab something like a 2nd round pick and solid prospect for him and maybe a underlying possibility of moving him is that they could then have Wright finish the year in the NHL, so it will be a interesting situation but definitely keep your eyes on Wennberg.

3-Thomas Novak
And lastly here is the youngest of the 3 and that is Center Novak, now Novak isn't as good of players as Monahan or Lindholm and has actually barely had much NHL experience, but over the past year since being called up Novak has shown that he cane be a solid 3C and maybe even 2C at the NHL level and the one thing I think may lead to him being dealt is there is a lot of cap strapped teams out there looking for Center help and Novak only has a AAV of$.800 Thousand for the rest of this year so I do think that could lead him to be dealt.
Now Novak last year was called up mid season and had a fantastic run getting 43 points in 51 games, now this year the Preds have been mediocre again and he dealt with some injuries this year, so he hasn't been up to last years level but he still has a solid point total having 11 goals and 27 points in 43 games so far and is on pace to possibly break the 50 point plateau, so he has a wicked shot and can produce extremely well and I feel those two things could make him a highly sought after Center.
Now just like the Kraken the Predators have fallen a bit out of the playoff race as they are coming off a embarrassing loss to the Stars and are 4 out of a playoff spot, just like they were last year when they moved off a ton of pieces and that is why I could see them be sellers again, now I think they could try to extend Novak as he is on the younger side of things, but he is a pending UFA and does have a cheap cap hit which is why I think teams will have interest and I think the Predators should be able to get a 2nd for him at least if not another thing as well but he would be a fantastic 3C for a cup contending team and with the amount of teams needing Centers out there, the asking price may be too good for Nashville to pass up.
So these are three Centers I could see be moved by the deadline and there others like Laughton or Jenner as well, so I would love to hear your thoughts on this down in the comments section, do you think any of those 3 are the next to be moved or will be moved by the deadline, and if not what other centers do you think will be moved, I would love to hear your thoughts.
