Columbus 4 Buffalo 3 Final/OT

Columbus continues nice play as they shocked Buffalo coming back from 3-1 down to win in OT and gain on Boston in the playoff race. Jakub Voracek had a goal (2) and a assist, and Jack Roslovic (8), Oliver Bjorkstrand (13) and Brendan Gaunce who scored his first of the season (1) all also scored, while Elvis Merzlikins made 24 saves on 27 shots in the win. Patrik Laine (6G-4A-10P) extends his point streak to five games, and Jack Roslovic (2G-2A-4P) now has a four game point streak. Columbus has won four of their last five games, and are 22-22-1 for 45 points and are 10 points back of a playoff spot. Buffalo had the only lineup change as Mark Jankowski replaced Jacob Bryson. Washington scores three times in the first and thanks to the first ever goal from Snively the Capitals cruised past Montreal and gain in the Metro race. Joe Snively scores his first two career NHL goals (1 and 2) and added a assist, Justin Schultz and Evgeny Kuznetsov both had 2 assists, and Connor McMicheal (7), Carl Hagelin (3) and Tom Wilson (15) all also scored, while Ilya Samsonov made 42 saves on 44 shots in the win. Evgeny Kuznetsov (2G-5A-7P) extends his point streak to five games. Washington won for the third time in their last five games, and are 26-14-9 for 61 points and are in the 1st Wildcard position. Both teams had lineup changes for Washington Brett Leason replaced Alex Ovechkin, and for Montreal Rem Pitlick replaced Laurent Dauphin. Rem Pitlick (9) and Cole Caufield (2) were the two goal scorers, while Cayden Primeau let in 4 goals on 14 shots before being replaced by Sam Montembeault who stoped all 8 shots he faced in the loss and in relief and Washington added a EN goal. Carolina 6 Boston 0 Final

Carolina put Boston in their place as they got a three goal second period and absolutely destroyed them to remain in top spot in the Metro. Andrei Svechnikov had a goal (18) and 2 assists, Teuvo Teravainen had 3 assists, Sebastian Aho scored twice (20 and 21), Jordan Staal had a goal (3) and a assist, and Vincent Trocheck (13) and Brett Pesce (3) both also scored, while Frederik Andersen stoped all 34 shots he faced in the win and the shutout which was his second shutout of the season. Carolina has won eight of their last eleven games, and are 32-10-3 for 67 points and are 1st in the Metro. Both teams had lineup changes for Carolina Teuvo Teravainen and Ian Cole replaced Josh Leivo and Brendan Smith, while for Boston Jack Studnicka, Anton Blidh and Trent Frederic replaced Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and Oskar Steen. Pittsburgh 2 Ottawa 0 Final

Pittsburgh sent Ottawa back to earth as they scored in the second and shutout Ottawa to beat them and keep pace for 1st in the Metro. Jeff Carter (13) and Bryan Rust (16) were the two goal scorers, while Casey DeSmith stoped all 26 shots he faced in the win and the shutout which was his second shutout of the season. Jake Guentzel (2G-7A-9P) and Sidney Crosby (2G-6A-8P) both extended their point streaks to five games, and Bryan Rust (6G-1A-7P) now has a four game point streak. Pittsburgh now has a three game point streak, and are 29-11-8 for 66 points and are 2nd in the Metro Division. Neither team had any lineup changes in this game. Ottawa was shutout for the fifth time this season, and Matt Murray made 42 saves on 43 shots in the loss and Pittsburgh added a EN goal. Ottawa has lost seven of their last twelve games, and are 16-23-4 for 36 points and are 19 points back of a playoff spot.

New Jersey continues to impress as thanks to a five goal third period the Devils came away with the win and have put up seven goals in back to back games. Nico Hischier scored twice (11 and 12) and added a assist, Yegor Sharangovich had a goal (9) and 2 assists, P.K Subban (3) and Jimmy Vesey (7) both had a goal and a assist, Damon Severson had 2 assists, Jesper Boqvist (4) and Michael McLeod (6) both also scored, while Jon Gillies made 27 saves on 31 shots in the win. New Jersey has won back to back games following a seven game losing streak, and are 17-26-5 for 39 points and are 16 points back of a playoff spot. St.Louis had the only lineup change as Dakota Joshua replaced Tyler Bozak. Brayden Schenn scored twice (11 and 12), Torey Krug and Oskar Sundqvist both had 2 assists, and Klim Kostin (3) and Justin Faulk (7) both also scored, while Jordan Binnington made 22 saves on 27 shots in the loss and St.Louis added 2 EN goals. Calgary continues to play amazingly as they took down the Maple Leafs and are now closing in on the top spot in the Pacific. Rasmus Andersson (2) and Noah Hanafin (5) both had a goal and a assist, Mikael Backlund had 2 assists, and Andrew Mangiapane (23), Oliver Kylington (6) and Elias Lindholm (17) all also scored, while Jacob Markstrom 46 saves on 48 shots in the win. Calgary is on a five game winning streak, and are 25-13-6 for 56 points and are 2nd in the Pacific. Toronto had the only lineup change as Jake Muzzin replaced Wayne Simmonds. Michael Bunting (14) and Rasmus Sandin (2) were the two goal scorers, while Jack Campbell made 21 saves on 26 shots in the loss. Toronto had their six game winning streak ended, and are 30-11-3 for 63 points and are 3rd in the Atlantic.
