Ottawa 3 New Jersey 2 Final/SO

Ottawa comes back twice from one goal deficients and the top line helps the Sens out big time (including Norris who had the shootout winner) as they topple New Jersey. Drake Batherson  (8) and Brady Tkachuk (8) both had a goal and a assist in regulation, while Tim Stutzle and Josh Norris both had a goal in the shootout for the Senators. Anton Forsberg made 22 saves on 24 shots in the win and has won his last three starts. Brady Tkachuk (4G-3A-7P) now has a four game point streak. Ottawa was 0/1 on the power play, and also had 23 hits and 23 shots and they have now won three consecutive games. Both teams had lineup changes for Ottawa Victor Mete replaced Dillion Heatherington and for New Jersey Yegor Sharangovich replaced Jesper Boqvist. Daemon Severson (3) and Nathan Bastian (3) both scored in regulation while Tomas Tatar was the lone goal scorer in the shootout for the Devils. After Philadelphia opened the scoring Colorado would scored four unanswered and stoped multiple comeback attempts to beat the Flyers and Philly lost there first game since firing their head coach. Erik Johnson had a goal (3) and a assist, Devon Toews and Mikko Rantanen both had 2 assists, Gabriel Landeskog (9), Alex Newhook (5), Cale Makar (11), Valeri Nichushkin (7), Nazem Kadri (10) and Tyson Jost (5) all also scored for the Avalanche. Justus Annunen made 27 saves on 32 shots in the win and won his first NHL start in this game. Gabriel Landeskog (3G-8A-11P) extends his point streak to eight games, while Nazem Kadri (3G-3A-6P) and Nathan Mackinnon (0G-7A-7P) both now have four game point streaks. After Arizona ties the game at one all in the second Dallas scored three unanswered in the third, leading the way Benn with a point on all three goals as Dallas ties their longest winning streak in team history. Dallas was 1/4 on the power play, and also had 19 hits and 27 shots and are on a seven game winning streak. Dallas was the only team to have lineup changes as Tanner Kero and a now healthy John Klingberg replaced injured Michael Raffl as well as Joel Hanley. In the first game for Vancouver since firing their head coach and GM the Canucks were able to win as they record a shutout and Boudreau wins his Canucks coaching debut. Brock Boeser (5) and J.T Miller (9) both had a goal and a assist, while Conor Garland (8) and Juho Lammikko (1) both also scored for the Canucks. Thatcher Demko stoped all 31 shots he faced in the win and shutout and has won three of his last four starts and had his first shutout of the season. Vancouver was 2/4 on the power play, and also had 31 hits and 30 shots and have won three of their last four games. Vancouver had the only lineup change as Juho Lammikko and Travis Hamonic replaced Justin Dowling and Kyle Burroughs. Los Angeles was shutout for the third time this season. Cal Peterson made 26 saves on 30 shots in the loss and has lost four of his last five starts. Viktor Arvidsson had his five game point streak ended. Pittsburgh came out of the gate on fire scoring three goals on four shots in the first 5:07 of the game and chased Grubauer to give Pittsburgh yet another victory. Jake Guentzel scored twice (14 and 15) and added a assist, Danton Heinen had a goal (7) and 2 assists, Jeff Carter scored twice (6 and 7), Sidney Crosby had a goal (4) and a assist, Brian Dumoulin and Evan Rodrigues both had added 2 assists for the Penguins. Casey DeSmith made 28 saves on 29 shots in the win and had his first win as starter this season. Jake Guentzel (12G-7A-19P) extended his point streak to thirteen games, Sidney Crosby (3G-8A-11P) extends his point streak to six games, while Kris Letang (0G-6A-6P) now has a four game point streak. Pittsburgh didn’t have a power play in today’s game, and also had 23 hits and 31 shots and have won eight of their last ten games. Seattle had the only lineup change as Jordan Eberle, Jaden Schwartz and Will Borgen who all returned from their respective injuries replaced Colin Blackwell, Kole Lind and Haydn Fleury.
