In Carolina’s first game back since the holiday break they get help from Teravainen and Slavin to shutout the Canadiens in the win. Jacob Slavin had 3 assists, Teuvo Teravainen scored twice (8 and 9), Sebastian Aho had 2 assists, while Nino Niederriter (9) and Seth Jarvis (5) both also scored for the Hurricanes. Antti Raanta stoped all 26 shots he faced in the win and the shutout which was his first shutout of the season. Sebastian Aho (5G-9A-14P) extends his point streak to six games, while Jesperi Kotkaniemi (1G-5A-6P) now has a four game point streak. Carolina was 3/5 on the power play, and also had 25 hits and 38 shots and are on a three game winning streak and have won seven of their last eight games. On the second half of a back to back and facing a COVID riddled Lightning team the Panthers absolutely deck them putting up a astonishing nine goals on the Lightning in the win. Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal (11) and added 4 assists for a five point night, Anthony Duclair scored twice (11 and 12) and added a assist, Frank Vatrano (7), Eetu Luostarinen (8), Anton Lundell (7) and Alex Barkov (11) all had a goal and a assist, Mackenzie Weegar had 2 assists, while Maxim Mamin (4) and Aaron Ekblad (9) both also scored for the Panthers. Spence Knight made 39 saves on 42 shots in the win and won for the first time in his last four starts. Florida was 1/3 on the power play, and also had 40 hits and 37 shots. After Nashville took a 3-2 lead in the second, Columbus got a late game tying goal and was able to get the shootout winner and win in their first game back from the break. Boone Jenner had a goal (12) and a assist, Patrick Laine (4) and Alex Texier (10) both also scored in regulation, while Alex Texier and Gustav Nyquist scores in the shootout for the Blue Jackets. Elvis Merzlikins made 31 saves on 34 shots in the win and has started seven consecutive games. Columbus was 0/3 on the power play, and also had 26 hits and 29 shots. Nashville had one lineup changes as Matt Luff replaces Mathieu Olivier. Matt Duchene had 2 assists, Michael McCarron (1), Nick Cousins (4) and Ryan Johansen (9) were the three goal scorers in regulation, while Mikael Granlund was the lone goal scorer in the shootout for the Predators. The Islanders have been been playing a lot better over their last ten games and is showed it tonight with a impressive win be the Sabres. Matthew Barzal had a goal (6) and 2 assists, Kieffer Bellows (3) and Noah Dobson (4) both had a goal and a assist, Josh Bailey had 2 assists, while Anders Lee (9) also scored for the Islanders. Semyon Varlamov made 36 saves on 37 shots in the win and has won only two of his eight starts this season. Matthew Barzal (2G-10A-12P) extended his point streak to seven games, while Anders Lee (2G-2A-4P) now has a four game point streak. In what was a back and forth game for much of it that saw multiple lead changes and a very late goal from Matthew Tkachuk gave the Flames a nail bitter win over Seattle. Johnny Gaudreau scored twice (11 and 12) and added a assist, Matthew Tkachuk had a goal (13) and 2 assists, Noah Hanafin had a goal (3) and a assist, while Milan Lucic (8) and Andrew Mangiapane (18) both also scored for the Flames. Jacob Markstrom made 18 saves on 22 shots in the win and won for the first time in his last four games as starter. Calgary was 2/5 on the power play, and also had 30 hits and 40 shots and ended their four game losing streak. Seattle had one lineup change as Kole Lind replaces Jaden Schwartz who has a UBI. San Jose took a 2-1 lead into the third but let in the tying goal that forced overtime, but San Jose secured the win thanks to the OT winner from Hertl. Tomas Hertl has a goal (16) and a assist, Jacob Middleton had 2 assists, while Brent Burns (3) and Logan Couture (11) both also scored for the Sharks. James Reimer made 23 saves on 25 shots in the win and has won five of his last six starts. Tomas Hertl (8G-4A-12P) extended his point streak to eight games. In yet another game the Canucks tied the game after entering the third down a goal, but they ended up losing for the first time under new head coach Bruce Boudreau. Brendan Lemieux (6) was the lone goal scorer in regulation, while Adrian Kempe and Viktor Arvidsson both scored in the shootout for the Kings. Jonathan Quick made 17 saves on 18 shots in the win and has won five of his last eight starts. Los Angeles was 0/1 on the power play, and also had 23 hits and 35 shots and have a point in five of their last seven games. Both teams had lineup changes for Los Angeles Phillip Danault and Cal Peterson who was backup were both activated off of the COVID list, as well as Rasmus Kupari replaced Jaret Anderson Dolan, Lias Andersson and Garrett Sparks, while for Vancouver Matthew Highmore who is off of LTIR and Kyle Burroughs replaced Justin Dowling who is on the COVID list and Brad Hunt. Bo Horvat (11) was the lone goal scorer in regulation, while No Horvat was also the lone goal scorer in the shootout for the Canucks. Jaroslav Halak made 34 saves on 35 shots in the SO loss and has lost six of his seven starts this season. J.T Miller (3G-9A-12P) extended his point streak to eight games. Vancouver was 1/1 on the power play, and also had 27 hits and 18 shots and  had their seven game point streak ended but now have a eight game point streak.
