A Carolina team went back to 18 skaters today got some help from their young emergency call ups as Carolina was able to Destroy Los Angeles. Jesperi Kotkaniemi (7) and Jesper (7) both had a goal and a assist, Brady Skjei had 2 assists, while Brett Pesce (2), Teuvo Teravainen (7) and Jack Drury (2) all also scored for the Hurricanes. Frederik Andersen made 32 saves on 33 shots in the win and has won five consecutive games as starter. Brett Pesce (1G-3A-4P) now has a four game point streak. Carolina was 2/5 on the power play, and also had 17 hits and 33 shots and have won five of their last six games. Carolina had the only lineup changes as C.J Smith who made his season debut and Josh Leivo were placed in the lineup and Carolina went back to using 18 skaters. After Philly opened the game with two goals they would give up three unanswered but came back as they tied the game in the third and got the OT winner to beat Ottawa. Oskar Lindblom had a goal (3) and a assist, Travis Konecny had 2 assists, while Claude Giroux (11), Joel Farabee (8) and Travis Sanheim (2) all also scored for the Flyers. Martin Jones made 28 saves on 31 shots in the win and has won back to back starts for the second time this season. Philadelphia was 0/2 on the power play, and also had 24 hits and 38 shots and are now on a four game point streak. Both teams had lineup changes for Philadelphia a now healthy Joel Farabee and Felix Sandstrom who was backup replaced Max Willman who is now on the COVID list and injured Carter Hart, while for Ottawa Jacob Bernard-Docker replaced injured Nikita Zaitsev. After having 2-0 and 3-1 leads the Stars blew both leads as the Blackhawks got it to OT but Dallas recovered for the OT win thanks to Klingberg’s OT winner. Joe Pavelski scores twice (10 and 11) and added 2 assists for a four point night, Roope Hintz had 3 assists, John Klingberg had a goal (1) and a assist, while Jason Robertson (10) also scored for the Stars. Jake Oettinger made 20 saves on 23 shots in the win and has won six of his eight starts this season. Dallas was 3/8 on the power play, and also had 16 hits and 39 shots and ended their five game losing streak. Both teams had lineup changes for Dallas Tanner Kero and a now healthy Miro Heiskanen replaced Jacob Peterson and Joel Hanley and for Chicago Brett Connolly replaced Kurtis Gabriel.
