Tampa Bay 2 Ottawa 1 Final

After surrendering the first goal of the game the Lightning were able to score twice in the second and Stamkos got his 900th career NHL point as Tampa Bay gets a W vs Ottawa. Victor Hedman had a goal (7) and a assist, while Alex Killorn (9) also scored for the Lightning. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 25 saves on 26 shots in the win and has won six consecutive games as starter. Tampa Bay was 1/5 on the power play, and also had 27 hits and 27 shots and have won seven of their last eight games. Neither team had any lineup changes in today’s game. After giving up the opening goal the Golden Knights scored four unanswered goals and held off a very late Devils comeback attempt as Vegas was able to defeat the Devils. Jonathan Marchessault (13), William Karlsson (3) and Dylan Coghlan (2) all had a goal and a assist, Reilly Smith had 2 assists, while William Carrier (4) and Nicolas Roy (5) both also scored for the Golden Knights. Robin Lehner made 23 saves on 26 shots in the win and has won four of the last five games he’s started. Mark Stone and Max Pacioretty both had their nine game point streaks end, but Alex Pietrangelo (1G-6A-7P) extends his point streak to five games. Vegas was 1/4 on the power play, and also had 6 hits and 30 shots and are on a three game winning streak and have won six of their last seven games. After Matt Kierstad’s first NHL goal opened the game the Panthers who were playing two men down due to COVID gave up four unanswered to lose to LA and continue their losing streak. Olli Maatta (1), Anze Kopitar (9), Dustin Brown (4) and Arthur Kaliyev (6) were the four goal scorers for the Kings. Jonathan Quick made 41 saves on 42 shots in the win and has won four of his last five games as starter. Los Angeles was 0/2 on the power play, and also had 21 hits and 31 shots and now have a four game point streak. Both teams had lineup changes for Los Angeles Blake Lizzotte who was activated off of the COVID list and Mikey Anderson who recovered from illness replaced Andreas Athanasiou who is injured and Drew Doughty who is on the COVID list, while for Florida Sam Bennett, Carter Verhaeghe, Frank Vatrano, Aaron Ekblad, Brandon Montour and Radko Gudas were all out of the lineup after all were placed in COVID protocol and were replaced by Cole Schwindt who made his NHL debut, Grigori Denisenko, Chase Priskie and Matt Kierstad and they used 16 skaters. Montreal 3 Philadelphia 2 Final/SO

After falling behind 2-1 in the second period the Canadiens were able to get the tying goal in the third before Drouin got the shootout winner to help Montreal beat Philly. Autturi Lehkonen (4) and Laurent Dauphin (1) were the two goal scorers in regulation, while Jonathan Drouin was the lone goal scorer in the shootout for the Canadiens. Cayden Primeau made 37 saves on 39 shots in the win, which was his first win as starter this season. Montreal was 0/2 on the power play, and also had 22 hits and 40 shots and ended their six game losing streak. Both teams had lineup changes for Montreal a now healthy Jake Evans and Cayden Primeau who started replaced injured Mathieu Perreault as well as Sam Montembeault, while for Philadelphia Morgan Frost who was placed in COVID protocol was replaced by Jackson Cates who made his season debut. Max Willman (2) and Jackson Cates who scored his first career NHL goal (1) were the two goal scorers in regulation for the Flyers. In what was a really tight game with Both teams scoring 3 times in the first two periods, Niederriter got his second of the game early in the third to lead the short handed Caners past the Red Wings. The Islanders played a really dominant game today against a short handed Boston team as the Islanders scored the first three goals to get them back in the win Column. Cal Clutterbuck scored twice (4 and 5), while Anthony Beauvillier (4) also scored for the Islanders. Semyon Varlamov made 40 saves on 41 shots in the win and won as starter for the first time this season. After being down 1-0 and 2-1 the Sabres would comeback to tie the game twice and win the game in the shootout thanks to Thompson. Dylan Cozens (8) and Mark Pysyk (1) were the two goal scorers in regulation, while Tage Thompson was the lone goal scorer in the shootout for the Sabres. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 40 saves on 42 shots in the win and has won back to back NHL starts for the first time in his career.
