Seattle 7 Buffalo 4 Final 

Seattle first two goals today were short handed their first ever and they took off from their destroying the Sabres. Brandon Tanev had a goal (8) and 2 assists, Mason Appleton (1 and 2) and Jared McCann (9 and 10) both scored twice, Yanni Gourde and Morgan Geekie both had 2 assists, while Carson Soucy (3) and Jaden Schwartz (5) both also scored for the Kraken. Chris Dreidger made 32 saves on 36 shots in the win and has won back to back starts for the first time this season. Seattle didn’t have a power play in today’s game, and also had 9 hits and 32 shots and have won four of their last five games. Buffalo had the only lineup change as Will Butcher replaces injured Jaycob Bryson. Jeff Skinner (7 and 8), Brett Murray who scored his first NHL goal (1) had a goal and assist, Kyle Okposo had 2 assists, while Dylan Cozens (6) also scored for the Sabres. Dustin Tokarski made 25 saves on 31 shots in the loss and Seattle added a EN goal and Tokarski has lost four of his last five starts. Kyle Okposo (2G-3A-5P) now has a four game point streak. Buffalo was 1/4 on the power play, and also had 21 hits and 36 shots and has lost six of his last seven games.

Vancouver 2 Montreal 1 Final 

Conor Garland Broke a 1 all tie late in the middle of the second period as Vancouver was able to break their losing streak with a victory over Montreal. Elias Pettersson (4) and Conor Garland (7) were the two goal scorers for the Canucks. Thatcher Demko made 33 saves on 34 shots in the win and ended three straight losses as the starter. Vancouver was 1/2 on the power play, and also had 14 hits and 42 shots and ended their four game losing streak. Neither team had any lineup changes in today’s game. Ryan Poehling (4) was the lone goal scorer for the Canadiens. Jake Allen made 40 saves on 42 shots in the loss and has lost four of his last six starts. Montreal was 0/2 on the power play, and also had 23 hits and 34 shots and have lost seven of their last nine games.

Arizona 1 Winnipeg 0 Final

Tonight was Karel Vejmelka night as he stoped all shots he faced in his first NHL shutout and Antoine Roussel scored the only goal as Arizona downs the Jets. Antoine Roussel (3) was the lone goal scorer for the Coyotes. Karel Vejmelka stoped all 46 shots he faced in the win and the shutout and earned his first career NHL shutout. Arizona was 0/1 on the power play, and also had 15 hits and 15 shots and have a point in five of their last seven games. Arizona had the only lineup change as Christian Fischer who is now healthy replaced Hudson Fasching. Winnipeg was shutout for the third time this season. Connor Hellebuyck made 14 saves on 15 shots in the loss and has lost five of his last six starts. Winnipeg was 0/6 on the power play, and also had 16 hits and 46 shots and have lost six of their last seven games.

Calgary 2 Pittsburgh 1 Final/SO

Pittsburgh tied the game up in the third period to get at least one point but Calgary held off Pittsburgh in the shootout for the win. Milan Lucic (6) was the lone goal scorer in regulation while Johnny Gaudreau and Mikael Backlund both scored in the shootout for the Flames. Jacob Markstrom made 21 saves on 22 shots in the win and has won four of his last five starts. Elias Lindholm’s seven game point streak and Johnny Gaudreau’s six game point streak both ended. Calgary didn’t have a power play in today’s games, and also had 12 hits and 32 shots and have won six of their last eight games. Pittsburgh had the only lineup change as Sam Lafferty replaces Brian Boyle. Jake Guentzel (9) was the lone goal scorer in regulation while Kris Letang was the lone shootout goal scorer for the Penguins. Tristan Jarry made 31 saves on 32 shots in the SO loss and has lost for the first time in six starts. Jake Guentzel (6G-5A-11P) extends his point streak to ten games. Pittsburgh was 1/1 on the power play, and also had 14 hits and 22 shots.
