As the Bolts raise their banner they lose there home opener to the mighty Penguins. Kris Letang opend with two assists, offseason acquisitions Brian Boyle (1), Danton Heinen (1) and Dominik Simon (1) all scored as well as Teddy Blueger (1), Brian Rust (1), and Evan Rodrigues. Tristan Jarry made 26 saves on 28 shots in the win. Pittsburgh was 0/1 on the power play and had 28 hits and 35 shots. Taylor Raddysh made his NHL debut for Tampa Bay. Anthony Cirelli had a goal (1) and assist, Steven Stamkos had 2 assists, while Alex Killorn also scored in the opener. Vasilevskiy stoped 29 of 32 shots in the loss while Pittsburgh had 3 empty net goals. Tampa Bay was 0/1 on the power play and had 31 hits and 28 shots.

Seattle fell in a 3-0 hole and dug themselves out to tie the game at three but ultimately lose the first game in franchise history. Max Pacioretty had two goals (1 and 2) and a assist, Mark Stone had three assists, Chandler Stephenson had a goal (1) and assist, while Jonathan Marchessault (1) also scored for Vegas. Lehner stoped 28 of 31 shots in the win. Vegas was 0/3 on the power play, and had 26 hits and 30 shots. Pavel Dorofeyev made his NHL debut with Vegas. Ryan Donato scored the first goal in Kraken History (1), while Jared McCann (1) and Morgan Geekie also scored for the expansion team. Philipp Grubauer made 26 saves on 30 shots in the loss. Seattle was 0/3 on the power play, and had 33 hits and 31 shots.
