News
#1) Dominic Toninato signed a 2 year $1.5 Million dollar contract with a AAV of $.750 Thousand. Toninato played in 2 regular season games and 3 playoff games and had the game winning goal in game 1 of the first round and should be a bottom six option for the foreseeable future.
#2) Nick Bjugstad has signed a 1 year $.900 thousand dollar deal with the Wild to remain on the team. Bjugstad has 6 goals and 17 points in 44 regular season games and had a goal in 6 playoff games for the Wild and should center ether the 3RD or 4TH line next year.
#3) Scott Wedgewood has signed a 1 year $.825 Thousand dollar contract to remain with the Devils. Wedgewood played in 16 games last year having a .900 SV% and a 3.11 GAA and at the moment is the second string for Jersey but by season start will most likely be third string.
#4) Christian Wolanin signed a 1 year contract worth $.750 Thousand to stay with the Kings. He played in 18 games and 3 assists combined with the Sens and Kings last season and will probably only be a third pairing defensemen or the seventh defensemen on the team.
Rumours
#1) Pittsburgh looking at both Vegas goalies
After exiting the playoffs early Pittsburgh has been rumoured to be looking for a goalie to tandem with Jarry and Pittsburgh could be looking at both Lehner and Fleury. Fleury has 1 year left at $7 Million while Lehner has 4 years left at $5 Million and Vegas could move one of their goalies with them facing the cap.
#2) Vegas interested in Eichel
Vegas needs help on the power play and down the middle and have always gone shopping for big names and Eichel is the biggest name out there. Vegas does have the pieces to do it in my opinion they would need to part with Reilly Smith, Chandler Stephenson, Cody Glass, And their 1RD ans New Jersey’s 2RD pick this year in order to get Eichel.
#3) Nate Schmidt is available
After being traded by the Golden Knights last offseason Schmidt had one of his worst season’s and now wants a change of scenery. Schmidt still has 4 years left at $5.95 Million and can still be a valuable top 4 defensemen.
#4) Kuemper on his way out.
Amid all the speculation of Kessel, Ekman-Larsson, and Garland possibly moving on from Arizona there might be another player who could leave the Arizona and maybe sooner rather than later. Kuemper has a year left on his contract at $4.5 Million and the Coyotes don’t want to lose him for nothing in the expansion draft and also don’t want to lose Adin Hill si trading Kuemper before the expansion draft might be the best idea.
#5) Islanders to clear cap space to acquire a dynamic winger
New York I might be looking for a better winger to play with Barzal then what he had in the playoffs (Eberle and Komarov). Anders Lee should return next year and return to the left side but need a more dynamic winger on the right. In order to get a dynamic winger they would need to clear cap space and they would most likely move Eberle and/or Leddy either in the expansion draft or via trade.
