Tampa Bay 3 Montreal 1 Final
Tampa Bay laid down a beating after a three goal third period leads to a Game 1 win for the Bolts as the Stanley Cup Final got underway. Nikita Kucherov had two goals (6 and 7) and a assist, Brayden Point had three assists, while Erik Cernak (1), Yanni Gourde (6), and Steven Stamkos (8) also scored for the Lightning. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 18 saves on 19 shots in the Victory. The Lightning were 1/3 on the power play (Stamkos had the PPG), and also had 57 hits and 27 shots. The only lineup change was for the Canadiens as Joel Armia was replaced by a healthy Jake Evans. Ben Chiarot (1) was the lone goal scorer for the Canadiens. Carey Price made 22 saves on 27 shots in the loss. The Canadiens were 0/2 on the power play, and also had 58 hits and 19 shots. Tampa Bay leads the Stanley Cup Final 1-0, Game 2 is Wednesday at 5:00.
