North 2RD Playoff preview and prediction

North

3RD Winnipeg vs Montreal 4TH

Preview

The two teams have never played a playoff series against the other. Regular season record vs each other: Winnipeg 6-3-0, Montreal 3-3-3. The thing I want to see most would be which goalie will fair better in the series Carey Price of Montreal or Connor Hellebuyck of Winnipeg. Price could easily be said the MVP of the Canadiens come from behind series win and would probably be the key to another playoff series win as long as he’s defense is still good. While for Connor Hellebuyck he held Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl off the board for the first two games and did not allow them to have a impact and if Winnipeg Wants to move they will need a similar performance from Hellebuyck.

Winnipeg has advantage offensively: with both Nikolai Ehlers and Pierre Luc Dubois both rested and healthy I don’t think there is any argument on who is better offensively.

Montreal has advantage defensively: Montreal has a big body great defense with Weber and Petry and I would say that is better than Winnipeg’s defense.

Montreal has advantage on goaltending: it is a very fine line in this category but I think with Carey Price the Canadiens have the better goalie.

My Prediction: Winnipeg in 5 games

In my opinion the rest will do wonders for the Jets (Just look at what happened in Game 1 of the Vegas Colorado series) and Montreal is coming off a seven game series in which they had to come from down 3-1 in the series to win it in seven so the Canadiens will be all tired and it doesn’t help the fact that with Ehlers and Dubois healthy the Jets have a forceful top 9 and giving Hellebuyck rest after putting his foot down on McDavid and Draisaitl is reasons why I think Winnipeg will win the series
