NHL Game Reviews May 31

 Montreal 3 Toronto 1 Final

Montreal makes a stunning comeback as the Canadiens stunned the Maple Leafs from coming from 3-1 down to win the series 4-3. Eric Staal had two assists, while Brendan Gallagher (1), Corey Perry (2), and Tyler Toffoli (2) all scored for the Canadiens. Carey Price made 30 saves in the win. The Canadiens were 1/1 on the power play (Perry has the PPG), and also had 30 hits and 23 shots. The only lineup change was for Toronto as Rasmus Sandin replaced injured Jake Muzzin. William Nylander (5) was the lone goal scorer. Jack Campbell made 20 saves in the loss. The Maple Leafs were 0-2 on the power play, and also had 32 hits and 31 shots. My thoughts: when Toronto went up 3-1 in the series I thought my prediction would be a game off but little did I know that the Canadiens would storm back and win the series. Montreal wins series 4-3.

My prediction: Toronto 4-0

New York I 4 Boston 3 Final/OT

The Islanders were able to get a big win thanks to the overtime goal from Cizikas and recovering from giving up a 3-1 lead. Kyle Palmeri (4) and Jean Gabriel Pageau (2) both had a goal and assist, while Josh Bailey (4) and Casey Cizikas the overtime winner (1) also scored for the Islanders. Anthony Beauvillier has a six game point streak (4G-4A-8P). Semyon Varlamov made 39 saves in the win. The Islanders were 2/3 on the power play (Bailey and Pageau had a PPG), and also had 48 hits and 39 shots. The only lineup change was for Boston as Karson Kuhlman replaced injured Craig Smith. Brad Marchand had a goal (4) and a assist, while Patrice Bergeron (4) and Charlie Coyle (2) also scored for the Bruins. David Pastrnak has a four game point streak (5G-3A-8P). Tuukka Rask made 35 saves in the loss. The Bruins were 1/2 on the power play (Brad Marchand had the PPG), and also had 47 hits and 42 shots. My thoughts: this is the Islanders team that I thought would win the series a great gutsy effort by the Islanders to

recover from losing a 3-1 lead and recovering to win in overtime. Best of seven series tied 1-1, Game 3 Thursday at 4:30.
