1 . Eric Staal to his first home
Eric staal is rumoured to be on the trade block for the Buffalo Sabres and a destination could be The Hurricanes. The Carolina Hurricanes were the ones who drafted Eric Staal and he played his first couple season with them. The Canes have had conversations with Buffalo but would probably not do anything until closer to the deadline.
2 . Jordan Binnington stays with a 6 by 6 extension
Earlier in the week Jordan Binnington signed a 6 Year 6 Million Dollar extension. He came into the season after leading St.Louis to a Stanley Cup 2 years ago and lead them to the 1st round of the playoffs last year. So far this season he has started the bulk of the games for St.Louis where they are right now tied for 2nd in the West and look like a playoff team.
3 . Toronto Columbus trade
The Toronto Maple Leafs sent Mikko Lehtonen to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Veini Vehvilainen. Mikko Lehtonen will most likely chalenge for a spot in the top six of Columbus while Vehvilainen will most likely be a third or fourth string goalie right now for Toronto. Mikko Lehtonen has 3 assists in nine games played for Toronto while Veini Vehvilainen has played only coming in relief and stoping 3 of 4 shots in 10:40.
