NHL Trade Rumors and Trade News
Montreal Buffalo
Eric Staal 2021 3RD
(50% contract retained) 2021 5RD
Analysis: This is the start of a lot of trades for Buffalo. For Montreal this move makes sense getting a centre that could take defenses zone draws late in games and is a veteran presence at the center position as well as having plenty of Draft Picks makes this a good trade. I Envision him on the third or fourth line depending on what they want to do with Kotkaniemi plus with Buffalo retaining half he’s salary Montreal got him at a cheap price. As for Buffalo they probably would’ve wanted more for Stall but due to the fact of the COVID cap world the 3RD and 5TH was the best they were going to get. Buffalo is probably going to blow up their roster so keep an eye out for more trades from them.
1 . Kyle Palmeri likely moved before Apr 12.
Apparently contract talks has not gone very well between Palmeri and the Devils and due to that fact it’s a very likely possibility that they move Palmeri before the deadline. Palmeri could net a big package for the Devil’s considering how good he’s been this year (6G-9A-15P) in 31 games played, how much money ($4.65 million) he has and considering he is UFA next year. Look for the New York I, Boston and Toronto as possibilities to land him.
2 . Edmonton looking for a third line center.
Edmonton could be in the market for a cheap third line centre someone who can take face-offs late in games a couple of names have been thrown out there are Luke Glendening, Derek Ryan and Brandon Sutter as these three players could step in and play valuable minutes for the oilers.
3 . Carolina open to trading a goalie.
The hurricanes have recently said they would be open to trading one of their goaltenders for help defensively. Reimer is the most likely target as he has He is a UFA at the end of the year and seems like the best option Mrázek is good too but has been held to four games due to injury and Nedeljkovic wouldn’t save them very much cap space. Look for Washington and maybe Colorado to call on them.
