 Boston 2 Pittsburgh 1 Final

Boston earns a spilt of the two game set with Pittsburgh. David Pastrnak (13) and Trent Frederic (4) each had a goal for Boston. Rookie Goalie Dan Vladar made 34 saves in his first NHL start and first NHL win. This was Boston’s second win in the last six games. Each team had one lineup change for Pittsburgh Teddy Blueger came out and was replaced by Sam Lafferty and Boston took out Anders Bjork and put in Oskar Steen who played in his first NHL game. Brandon Tanev (7) was the lone goal scorer for Pittsburgh. Envgeni Malkin’s eight game point streak, Sidney Crosby’s seven game point streak and Jake Guentzel’s four game point streak each came to an end today. Casey Desmith made 31 saves in his second start in the last three games. The loss broke Pittsburgh’s eight game winning streak. 

Pittsburgh is 3rd in the East 18-10-1 record, 37 points, 6 points above the playoff line, 29 games played.

Boston is 4th in the East 15-8-4  record, 34 points, 3 points above the playoff line, 27 games played.



Washington 3 New York I 1 Final 

Washington wins the battle for first in the East today beating New York. Nick Backstrom (12) and Alex Ovechkin (12) who past Phil Esposito for sixth on the all time NHL goal scoring list each have a goal and assist while T.J.Oshie (7) also scored for Washington. Daniel Sprong’s four game point streak was snapped but Evgeny Kuznetsov has a five game point streak (1G-5A-6P) and Alex Ovechkin has a four game point streak (4G-1A-5P). Ilya Samsonov made 21 saves in his third start in four games. Washington is currently on a six game winning streak. The only lineup change was for New York I as Jean Gabriel Pageau came in for Leo Komarov. Oliver Wahlstrom (6) had the lone Islanders goal. Semyon Varlamov made 19 saves in his third start in the last five games. The Islanders had their nine game winning streak and twelve game point streak end in the loss. 

Washington is T1st in the East 19-6-4 record, 42 points, 11 points above the playoff line, 29 games played.

New York I is T1st in the East 19-7-4 record, 42 points, 11 points above the playoff line, 30 games played. 



New Jersey 3 Buffalo 2 Final 

Buffalo continues to fall with yet another loss. Yegor Sharangovich (6), Sami Vatanen (1), and Miles Wood (9) each scored for New Jersey. Janne Kuokkanen has a five game point streak (4G-2A-6P). Mackenzie Blackwood made 33 saves in his third start in four games. New Jersey now has a point in back to back games and ended their four game losing streak. Buffalo had the only lineup change as Rasmus Asplund and Jacob Bryson came out and Cody Eakin and Henri Jokiharju came in. Brandon Montour has two assists, while Tobias Rieder (5) who ended Buffalo’s goal drought at 177:27 and Jeff Skinner (2) each scored for Buffalo. Jonas Johansson made 24 saves in his first start in the last three games. Buffalo has now lost twelve consecutive games. 

New Jersey is 7th in the East 9-13-4 record, 22 points, 12 points back of a playoff spot, 26 games played.

Buffalo is 8th in the East 6-18-4 record, 16 points, 18 points back of a playoff spot, 28 games played.



Detroit 4 Carolina 2 Final 

Detroit keeps their good play of late going with a victory over Carolina. Filip Hronek has a goal (1) and two assists, Dylan Larkin has two assists, Adam Erne had two goals (4 and 5), and Robbi Fabbri (6) also scored for Detroit. Filip Hronek now has a four game point streak (1G-7A-8P). Jonathan Bernier made 35 saves in his third consecutive start. The Red Wings have a point in three of their last four games. The only lineup change was for Detroit as Evgeny Svechnikov took out Bobby Ryan. Nino Niederreiter (13) and Sebastian Aho (11) each scored for Carolina. Dougie Hamilton has a nine game point streak (2G-9A-11P). James Reimer has a 24 save game in the loss. Carolina had their eight game winning streak snapped with the loss. 

Carolina is 3rd in the Central 20-7-1 record, 41 points, 12 points above the playoff line, 28 games played.

Detroit is 8th in the Central 9-17-4 record, 22 points, 11 points back of a playoff spot, 30 games played.



Minnesota 3 Arizona 0 Final

Minnesota keeps on moving up in the West with yet another win. Ryan Hartman (4), Mats Zuccarello (5), and Jared Spurgeon (1) each scored for Minnesota. Kirill Kaprizov (4G-2A-6P) and Mats Zuccarello (1G-5A-6P) each have a four game point streak. Kappo Kahkonen made 31 saves and got his second shutout in the last five games and has two of the Wilds three shutout’s in their last five games. Minnesota now has a five game winning streaks. The only lineup change was for Arizona where they took out Jordan Oesterle and Dryden Hunt and put in Niklas Hjalmarsson and Hudson Fasching. Arizona was shutout for the second time in three games. Adin Hill made 23 saves as he started due to Antti Raanta and Darcy Kuemper being injured. Arizona has now lost four straight.

Minnesota is 2nd in the West 18-8-1 record, 37 points, 9 points above the playoff line, 27 games played.

Arizona is 6th in the West 12-13-4 record, 28 points, 5 points back of a playoff spot, 29 games played.



Tampa Bay 4 Dallas 3 Final/SO

Tampa Bay keeps being dominant vs Dallas. Brayden Point had a goal (11) and assist, while Mathieu Joseph (7) and Steven Stamkos (14) scored in regulation and Ross Colton and Brayden Point scored in the shootout. Steven Stamkos now has a four game point streak (3G-2A-5P). Andre Vasilevskiy made 24 saves in his 22nd start of the season. Tampa Bay got only their second win in their last four games. Each team had one lineup change for Dallas Roope Hintz came out for Nick Caamano and for Tampa bay Ross Colton replaced Alex Volkov. Miro Heiskanen (3) and Jamie Benn (5) each have a goal and assist, Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski each had two assists, Alex Radulov (4) also scores in regulation while Jason Robertson scored the lone shootout goal for Dallas. Jake Oettinger made 33 saves in his 11th start of the season. Dallas has lost four of their last six but currently have a three game point streak. 

Tampa Bay is 1st in the Central 20-6-2 record, 42 points, 13 points above the playoff line, 28 games played. 

Dallas is 6th in the Central 9-9-7 record, 25 points, 8 points back of a playoff spot, 25 games played.



Colorado 8 Anaheim 4 Final 

Colorado scores six unanswered to crush Anaheim. Nazem Kadri had two goals (8 and 9 ) and two assists, Devon Toews had three assists, Andre Burakovsky (7), Mikko Rantanen (14), Sam Girard (5) and Brandon Saad (10) each had a goal and assist, and Jonas Donskoi had two assists for Colorado. Hunter Miska let in four goals on seven shots and was replaced by Philip Grubauer who stoped all 15 shots he faced. Colorado has a four game winning streak. The only lineup change was for Anaheim where they took out David Backes and Vinnie Letteri and put in Trevor Zegras and Derek Grant. Adam Henrique (7) had a goal and two assists, Troy Terry (5) had a goal and assist, while Derek Grant (1) and Danton Heinen (4) each scored for Anaheim. Ryan Miller let in seven of the eight goals in the loss to Colorado. Anaheim is currently on a four game losing streak.

Colorado is 3rd in the West 17-8-2 record, 36 points, 8 points above the playoff line, 27 games played.

Anaheim is 8th in the West 8-16-6 record, 22 points, 11 points back of a playoff spot, 30 games played.
