 Minnesota 2 Vegas 0 Final

Minnesota avenges last weeks two loss to Vegas by beating them today. Kevin Fiala (8) and Jonas Brodin (4) each scored for Minnesota. Kaapo Kahkonen made 26 saves in the shutout and has won Minnesota’s only two games in their last five. Minnesota has now won two of three but have lost three of five since there six game winning streak. Minnesota only had one lineup change taking out Brad Hunt and put in Carson Soucy and Vegas took out Mark Stone and Alex Pietrangelo while they put in Keegan Kolesar and Dylan Coghlan. Vegas was shutout for a second time this season. Max Pacioretty, Alex Tuch, and Chandler Stephenson each had their four game point streaks end today. Marc Andre Fleury who has started eleven of the Knights last twelve games made 20 saves in the loss. Minnesota ended Vegas’s six game winning streak with the win today.

Vegas is 1st in the West 16-5-1 record, 33 points, 6 points above the playoff line, 22 games played.

Minnesota is 3rd in the West 14-8-1 record, 29 points, 2 points above the playoff line, 23 games played.



San Jose 3 St.Louis 2 Final/OT

The Sharks won in OT to gain in the West playoff race. Ryan Donato  has two assists while Marc Edward Vlasic (1), Logan Couture (13), and Evander Kane (8) all scored for San Jose. Deven Dubnyk who has started the past two games since Martin Jones was pulled three games ago made 24 saves in the win. The win ended the Sharks three game losing streak. The only lineup change was Joachim Blichfeld in and Noah Gregor out for San Jose. St.Louis had two assists from Ryan O’Rielly and Brayden Schenn (12) and Niko Mikkola (1) who got his first NHL goal scored for the Blues. David Perron has a seven game point streak (4G-5A-9P) and Brayden Schenn has a six game point streak (3G-4A-7P). Ville Husso made 17 saves in his seventh start of the year. St.Louis has now lost two straight in overtime since a four game winning streak. 

St.Louis is 2nd in the West 14-8-4 record, 32 points, 5 points above the playoff line, 26 games played. 

San Jose is 8th In the West 9-11-3 record, 21 points, 7 points back of a playoff spot, 23 games played.




Edmonton 3 Ottawa 2 Final

Edmonton scored three unanswered after Ottawa lead 1-0 and held on for the win. Connor McDavid had two assists while Kailer Yamamoto (7), Alex Chiasson (5) and Leon Draisaitl (11) each scored for Edmonton. Mikko Koskinen made 26 saves in his first game since being pulled Mar 1. Edmonton has won back to back games since a three game losing streak. Each team made one lineup change as Artem Anisimov went out for Ottawa and Matthew Peca went in while Edmonton took out Dominic Kahun and put in Tyler Ennis. For the Senators Thomas Chabot had two assists and Evgenii Dadonov (8) and Tim Stutzlé (6) each scored for the Sens. Joey Daccord made 34 saves on 37 shots in his second start this season. This was Ottawa’s third loss in four games and fourth loss in six. 

Edmonton is 2nd in the North 16-11-0 record, 32 points, 6 points above the playoff line, 27 games played.

Ottawa is 7th in the North 9-18-1 record, 19 points, 10 points back of a playoff spot, 28 games played.




Arizona 3 Colorado 2 Final

Arizona’s win means they are now one point back of Colorado for the last playoff spot. Clayton Keller and Oliver Ekman Larsson had two assists while Derick Brassard (4), Jacob Chychrun (7), and Johan Larsson (4) each scored for Arizona. Clayton Keller has a five game point streak (3G-4A-7P). Darcy Kuemper made 17 saves on 19 shots before leaving the game due to injury and Annti Raanta stoped all 16 shots in relief. Arizona has now won two straight and have won three of their last four games. Lineup changes for Arizona means they put in Drake Caggula and took out John Hayden while for Colorado they took out Connor Timmins and Keifer Sherwood to put in Greg Pateryn and Matt Calvert. The Avalanche got goals from Valeri Nichushkin (5) and Andre Burakovsky (5). Philip Grubauer made 11 saves in his nineteenth start of the season. The Avalanche have lost three of their last five games and had their three game point streak end.

Colorado is 4th in the West 13-8-2 record, 28 points, 1 point above the playoff line, 23 games played. 

Arizona is 5th in the West 12-10-3 record, 27 points, 1 point back of a playoff spot, 25 games played.



Anaheim 6 Los Angeles 5 Final/OT

The Ducks are able to win the first of back to back games against their California rivals. Rickard Rakell had two goals (5 and 6) and a assist, Max Comtois had three assists, Kevin Shattenkirk (2) and Adam Henrique (6) each have a goal and assist, and Ben Hutton (1) and Jacob Silfverberg (6) each scored for Anaheim. Rickard Rakell has a six game point streak (5G-7A-12P). John Gibson made 21 saves in his first win since Feb 11. The Ducks have now one back to back games following a nine game losing streak. Each team had lineup changes as Anaheim Put in Trevor Zegras and Nick Deslauriers and took out Danton Heinen and Josh Mahura while LA took out Tobias Bjornfot and put in Kurtis Macdemid. La got a hat trick from Adrian Kempe (7,8 and 9), Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty each had two assists while Andreas Athanasiou (5) and Dustin Brown (13) each scored for Los Angeles. Anze Kopitar. currently has a five game point streak (2G-7A-9P). Cal Peterson made 19 saves in the overtime loss. La has now lost four of five since their six game winning streak.  

Los Angeles is 6th in the West 10-8-6 record, 26 points, 2 points back of a playoff spot, 24 games played.

Anaheim is 7th in the West 8-12-6 record, 22 points, 6 points back of a playoff spot, 26 games played.



Vancouver 2 Montreal 1 Final/SO

Vancouver has crawled there way back into the playoff race with the win over Montreal. Adam Gaudette (3) was the lone Canucks goal scorer and Bo Horvat scored the lone shootout goal scorer. Thatcher Demko made 29 saves in the win and has started three consecutive games. Vancouver has won three consecutive games and four of their last five. Neither team had any lineup changes. Jeff Petry (9) was the lone goal scorer for Montreal. Thomas Tatar (3G-2A-5P) and Jeff Petry (3G-2A-5P) each currently have four game point streaks but Nick Suzuki’s four game point streak ended. Carey Price made 28 saves in his third start in four games. Montreal has a five game point streak but have also lost three of their last five games.

Montreal is 4th in the North 11-6-7 record, 29 points, 3 points above the playoff line, 24 games played.

Vancouver is 5th in the North 12-15-2 record, 26 points, 3 points back of a playoff spot, 29 games played.
