Devils could look to deal Nemec in the offseason.
Hey everyone we are back and in today’s blog post we are taking a look at the New Jersey Devils as I look at a report that mentioned that the Devils could look to deal a former high pick defender in the offseason.
So as I was saying there were a couple of recent reports that mentioned that after Simon Nemec’s name came up within the last week of the trade deadline, there was some talk that Nemec was being shopped by the New Jersey Devils for a top nine forward upgrade, now it never happened and Nemec is still in the New Jersey Devils organization and they're all right keeping him in the fold, but according to some recent reports, this is a trade that could easily be revisited in the offseason, so Nemec is the former second overall pick back in the 2022 draft and he’s actually done really well this year as he is rounding into a really solid top 4 defender.

Now I personally would not move Nemec if I was the Devils because I do think he's a solution going forward and I'd be more interested in moving on from guys like Dougie Hamilton or Jonathan Kovacevic, but there has been some talk that with Nemec being out there and the Devils really wanting another top nine forward, maybe someone on the younger side of things who can grow with the team, that has led a lot of people to believe that this is a trade that could be revisited in the offseason. So some teams who can maybe use another younger defensemen such as a Simon Nemec might try and target him from the Jersey Devils.
So we should wait and see on that and once again no guarantees that Nemec does get moved and personally I would try and keep Nemec instead of trying to trade him if I was the New Jersey Devils, but it seems like with the Devils really wanting that forward upgrade they could look to move him instead of one of those other blueliners, so we'll have to wait and see on that, but it seems like this is a trade that could be revisited in the off season. So keep your eye on that once the Devils season ends and they enter offseason mode as they will definitely be looking for some much needed forward help, but I would love to hear your thoughts below on if you think the Devils will move Nemec in the offseason or if you think they will keep him, and don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel as well.
