Marchessault to be dealt to no tax state?
In today’s blog post we are looking at the Nashville Predators as Elliotte Friedman was talking about Jonathan Marchessault and he says that if Marchessault has indeed asked to be traded off of Nashville or would be open to being traded by Nashville, he says that he would have to be going to a similar place like Nashville where it's a no tax state where Marchessault can get more money.

So in my opinion that makes sense as he played in Florida for the first part of his career, was selected by Vegas in the expansion draft and played with Vegas up until last year when he went to Nashville in free agency and Florida, Vegas and Nashville all have one thing in common and that is that they are all no tax states, so it makes a whole bunch of sense as to why Marchessault would want to stay in a no tax state.
So could he be traded to Dallas, now we know Dallas is trying to free up some cap space so I'm not sure if Dallas would be a very likely landing spot, could it be a reunion in Vegas as if the Marner deal works out and they free up some cap space some way maybe they could try and bring back Marchessault as well but I think that's a little bit less likely, florida's got their own problems trying to resign all 3 of their big UFA players, but you've also got a team like Carolina as I think the Canes would have some interest in Marchessault if he was available, there is also Seattle as they just created a whole bunch of cap space and imagine Seattle getting Marchessault, I think that could be a very interesting one and there is also Tampa as could Tampa try and get him if they can make the cap work.
So we're going to have to wait and see on that, but Friedman does say if Marchessault is to get moved and wants a fresh start, expect him to be dealt to a no tax state and that would probably be somewhere like Carolina, Tampa or Seattle so keep an eye on that situation as we go forward.
