CBJ and CAR want Andersson.

Jackets and Canes could try and add Andersson?

In today’s blog post we are looking the Flames as David Pagnotta was mentioning that the Carolina Hurricanes and Columbus Blue Jackets have both called the Flames about acquiring Rasmus Andersson at some point.

So Calgary as we talked about in our last video, Pagnotta mentioned Ottawa as he wonderd how much interest they'll have in Andersson with it sounding like a trade was coming, but we have heard in the past that Anderson has a 6 team no trade list and that Ottawa is on that no trade list, so it sounds like he'd have to wave to go to Ottawa and he may not be open to doing that, but Carolina and Columbus are both very interesting scenarios.

So if the Jackets do end up moving on from Damon Severson or lose Fabbro/Provorov to free agency then adding Andersson would make a lot of sense and the thing with the Jackets is they will be able to pay Andersson whatever the heck he wants before free agency next year because they have the cap space to do so, when it comes to Carolina they have some very interesting pieces on their blue line including Walker, Gostisbehere, Slavin and Chatfield, but Orlov is about to hit free agency and they're not bringing him back, Burns is up there in age and he might be brought back on a short-term deal, but I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't brought back, so with those two guys heading to free agency I wouldn't be surprised if the Hurricanes have some major interest in Andersson and the Canes don't have an overabundance of draft capital or top prospects but they could put together a package that I think would intrigue the Calgary Flames.

So we'll have to wait and see on that and no guarantees by any means that Andersson does get moved, but Pagnotta does say that two Eastern Conference teams in the Jackets and the Hurricanes have called the Flames about him and we'll have to wait and see if he does wind up getting moved at some point this offseason by Calgary.
