Stars ready to make big deadline moves?

 Stars to make big moves at the deadline with newfound cap space. 

In this blog post we look at the Dallas Stars as on a recent inside trading video Pierre LeBrun was talking about the Dallas Stars and said that the Stars may spend big time at this year's trade deadline, he said there's a very likely chance the Stars might make a ton of moves soon 

Pierre LeBrun said that they would probably be looking at a top six forward and a top four defender at this point in time, now Tyler Seguin’s on injury reserve but he's not on long-term injury reserve so that allows the Dallas Stars to accrue some more cap space before the deadline, but Pierre LeBrun says that they plan on moving Seguin to long-term Injury Reserve and there's a very good chance he's done for the rest of the year and maybe even for some of the playoffs, so he can be on long-term injury Reserve and they can use that cap space and they can go out and spend big time because Seguin has a $9.5 million cap hit and if they put that on long-term Injury Reserve then they're going to be able to spend a whole bunch of money.

And they still have a couple of really good prospects and they have some really good draft Capital, so this team could be big spenders and could make some impressive improvements to that team before this years deadline, so expect them to go after a top six forward, potentially a center given like we said with Seguin out for the regular season, maybe even the playoffs they are probably going to be trying to find a second line Center who can work and fill in Seguin’s role and we know they don't have the greatest of defences too, so like Lebrun said they might Target a top four defenseman too, so we're going to have to wait and see on that but the Stars are going to be Big Spenders and will be looking for a top six center and a top four defenseman and there’s a very likely chance they might try and add some depth pieces around there too to sort of finish out their roster.

So with Seguin’s cap hit potentially being moved to LTIR, that'll give them a lot of cap flexibility and given the fact they still have some decent prospects and some decent picks, they could be a really intriguing team to watch come this year's trade deadline given how much money they'll have to spend, so we're going to have to wait and see on that, but watch out for the Dallas stars with Seguin’s cap going on LTIR, there’s a very likely chance they go out and try to get some of the bigger type players in this year trade market and I think that's a very likely scenario given Seguin’s injury and given his placement on potentially long-term injury reserve, I think this could be a really big trade deadline for the Dallas Stars and we're going to have to see what they do.
