Nick Robertson to the Pen’s?

 Could Robertson head to the Penguins?

Now in this blog post we're going to talk about Pittsburgh as they've been linked to a current RFA forward, so we start with the Pittsburgh Penguins as there's been some recent talk from the past couple of days from a couple of sources saying that the Penguins may have some interest in bringing in Nick Robertson.

Now we talked about Robertson going back to Dallas a little while ago and  we talked about him going to a couple of other places too, but it sounds like Robertson wants to be traded as he's still a RFA right now and if I'm correct the Leafs have still not signed him so it seems like he really wants a fresh start and to be moved from the Leafs and the Leafs aren't overly thrilled to potentially move on from him and I think they definitely would try and want to keep him, but they may still try and move on from him so it'll be interesting to see about that, but still Robertson's a really good player and a really good bottom 6 forward and there is another connection to Pittsburgh as Kyle Dubas who's the GM of the Penguins now has lots of ties to the Leafs being their former GM, so he could definitely improve their bottom six with a guy like Nick Robertson and he's a younger player which is exactly what sort of thing the Penguins are looking for, so I am not saying it's a guarantee Robertson is tradeed at this point even though he has asked for a trade and I’m not saying it's a guarantee the penguins are the team who's going to acquire him, but it definitely does seems like the Penguins have some interest and he's sort of the guy who really fits what they're trying to add, a younger player who can really help their bottom six 

I also think that could be really good there for the Penguins if they were to add him, I'm not sure what the Leafs would want in return, whether they want one of the Penguins roster players, maybe they would want one of their younger players in the AHL system who are on cheaper contracts, would they want picks or would they want prospects, not exactly sure what the Leafs would want for Robertson as he was a former second round pick so it'll be interesting to see exactly what happens there but it does seem like Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins do have some interest in trying to bring in Nick Robertson from the Maple Leafs so we will have to wait and see on that but it is something to keep our eye on over the next few weeks.
