New York R 2 Boston 1 Final/SO 

The Rangers survived a one goal deficit and a nine round shootout to beat the Bruins and get back in the race for 1st in the Metro. Filip Chytil was the lone goal scorer in regulation, while Mika Zibanejad, Artemi Panarin and K’Andre Miller were the three goal scorers in the shootout for the Rangers. Igor Shesterkin made 31 saves on 32 shots in the win and has won ten of his last eleven games as starter. Adam Fox had his seven game point streak ended. New York R is now on a three game winning streak. Both teams had lineup changes for New York R Filip Chytil and Adam Fox replaced Morgan Barron and Libor Hajek, and for Boston Matt Grzelyck replaced Jack Ahcan. Charlie Coyle (11) was the lone goal scorer in regulation, while Jack DeBrusk and Charlie Coyle both scored in the shootout for the Bruins. Jeremy Swayman made 33 saves on 34 shots in the SO loss and has lost three of his last four starts. Boston has now lost three of their last four games. Boston’s loss puts them up to 58 points and are now 8 points ahead of Detroit for the last playoff spot, while for New York R the win gives them 66 points and they remain in 3rd but aare now one  point back of Carolina for 2nd in the Metro.

Buffalo blew three one goal leads but recovered with 3 goals in the final three minutes of the third to get the win and move up the standings. Dylan Cozens had 3 assists, Victor Olofsson scored twice (6 and 7), Alex Tuch had a goal (7) and a assist, Peyton Krebs had 2 assists, while Tage Thompson (16), Kyle Okposo (10) and Henri Jokiharju (3) all also scored for the Sabers. Dustin Tokarski made 30 saves on 33 shots in the win. Tage Thompson (2G-4A-6P) extends his point streak to five games, while Alex Tuch (3G-4A-7P) now has a four game point streak. Buffalo is now on a three game point streak. Both teams had lineup changes for Buffalo Mark Pysyk replaced Robert Hagg and for New York I Kyle Palmeri ans Sebastian Aho replaced Ross Johnston and Andy Greene. Kyle Palmeri scores twice (2 and 3) while Anders Lee has a goal (13) and added a assist for the Islanders. St.Louis has a three point game from Tarasenko and they pull away from Ottawa to get the win and move closer to a top three spot in the Central. Tampa scores five unanswered goals after falling behind 3-1 to get their second win over Jersey in their three games played this year. Pat Maroon (8), Pierre Eduard Bellemare (6), Victor Hedman (11) and Nikita Kucherov (7) all had a goal and a assist, Corey Perry had 2 assists, while Steven Stamkos (23) and Alex Killorn (16) both also scored for the Lightning. Pittsburgh fought their way back from a 4-2 deficit with three consecutive goals including the OT winner as they come from behind to get more ahead of the pack. Kris Letang (6) and Sidney Crosby (14) who got his 500th career NHL goal both had a goal and a assist, while Dominik Simon (3), Jake Guentzel (25) and Chad Ruhwedel (1) all also scored for the Penguins. Casey DeSmith made 23 saves on 27 shots in the win and has won five of his last seven games as starter. Bryan Rust has his five game point streak ended, while Jake Guentzel (4G-7A-11P) and Sidney Crosby (3G-9A-12P) both extended their point streaks to seven games. Pittsburgh is on a four game winning streak and a five game point streak. Philadelphia had the only lineup change as Morgan Frost replaced Max Willman. Washington breaks a one all tie in the third Ruth three consecutive goals to get the win and close in on a top three spot in the Metro. Dallas scored the first two goals and the last two goals as they give the Avalanche a beating and are right in the thick of the playoff race. Calgary scored five of the first six goals and they obliterated the Blue Jackets and took over the top spot in the Pacific Division. Elias Lindholm has a goal (19) and 2 assists, Johnny Gaudreau had 2 assists, while Erik Gudbranson (3), Matthew Tkachuk (22), Dillon Dube (5), Adam Ruzicka (4) and Tyler Toffoli who scored his first with Calgary (10) all also scored for the Flames. Oliver Kylington has his five game point streak ended, while Elias Lindholm (5G-5A-10P) and Johnny Gaudreau (3G-6A-9P) both extended their point streaks to seven games, Andrew Mangiapane (5G-3A-8P) extends his point streak to six games, and Matthew Tkachuk (2G-4A-6P) now has a four game point streak. After giving up the first goal the Jets scored four goals in a row and would wind up winning the game and gain in the playoff race. Sergei Bobrovsky made 16 saves on 18 shots in the win and has won four consecutive games as starter. It took Colorado till the third period to get the first goal of the game but it was all they needed as they took down the Golden Knights and increased their lead in the west. Cale Makar had 2 assists, while Mikko Rantanen (25) and Gabriel Landeskog (24) were the two goal scorers for the Avalanche. Darcy Kuemper stoped all 29 shots he faced in the win and the shutout which was his third shutout of the season and his second consecutive shutout as starter. Colorado has won thirteen of their last fifteen games. Vegas had the only lineup change as Jack Eichel who made his season and Vegas debut and Logan Thompson who was the backup replaced Keegan Kolesar and Robin Lehner. Vegas was shutout for the fourth time this season and for the second consecutive game. Laurent Brossoit made 23 saves on 25 shots in the loss. Vegas has lost seven of their last twelve games. Vegas loss keeps them at 59 points and are still in 2nd in the Pacific, Colorado won and is now at 74 points and are well ahead of everyone else for top spot in the West.
