With a now almost healthy team in Tampa The Lightning make it rain as they put up seven goals and blowout the Blue Jackets to end their losing streak. Ondrej Palat scores twice (11 and 12) and added a assist, Brayden Point had a goal (11) and 2 assists, Patrick Maroon (7) and Corey Perry (9) both had a goal and a assist, Anthony Cirelli had 2 assists, while Pierre Eduard Bellemare (4) and Alex Killorn (10) both also scored for the Lightning. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 20 saves on 22 shots in the win and has won eight of his last nine games as starter. Detroit ended what I didn’t know was a 100 game short handed goalless streak today scoring twice on a five minute penalty kill and would beat the Sharks Fairly easily in the game. Tyler Bertuzzi (14 and 15) and Pius Suter (7 and 8) both scored twice, Dylan Larkin had a goal (16) and a assist, Gustav Lindstrom had 2 assists, while Robbi Fabbri (9) also scored for the Red Wings. Alex Nedeljkovic made 24 saves on 26 shots in the win and has won six of his last ten starts. Detroit was 0/3 on the power play, and also has 14 hits and 31 shots. Mikko Rantanen had his seven game point streak end, but Gabriel Landeskog (4G-11A-15P) extends his point streak to twelve games, Nathan Mackinnon (2G-16A-18P) extends his point streak to eleven games, while Nazem Kadri (4G-12A-16P) extends his point streak to nine games. The Jets were able to get up to a two goal lead in the game and held off the late Coyotes attack to defeat Arizona in a huge win. Marc Scheifele had 2 assists, while Evgeny Svechnikov (3), Pierre Luc Dubois (15) and Nikolai Ehlers (13) all also scored for the Jets. Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves on 27 shots in the win and has won three consecutive games as starter. Brendan Dillon (1G-4A-5P) extends his point streak to five games.
