Injury report heading into the COVID Break.
(UPDATE: all games on the 27th have now been postponed after the NHL extended their Christmas Break, in my opinion this is a smart idea as it will not only give teams another day to recover from COVID and Injures, but also makes the return date a smaller size of games and they can now ease their was back in)
This is the list of players either injured or in COVID protocol on Christmas Eve as he hope the NHL resumes on Monday. Now in my opinion with players needing to be out ten days if they test positive for COVID, any player who was placed in protocol December 16th or earlier should be back when the NHL resumes and If that is correct and there are no more players placed in COVID protocol over the next few days then there is only a handful of teams I would be worried about being postponed past the Holiday break. If all players who were placed on the COVID list December 16th or earlier are activated then only five teams would have more than three players in COVID protocol and these are the teams I’m worried about, 1) Carolina 4 now I’m not as worried for Carolina because most of the players are depth ones and they should be fine, 2) Edmonton 5 and I think they should also be okay but they might have to use some call ups in their first game back, 3) Columbus now I’m a bit worried for Columbus because if they get any more positive test they could be in trouble of being postponed again, and the two teams I’m most worried about 4 and 5) Detroit 9, Toronto 13 these two teams have about have of their normal lineups out and won’t be getting very many players back when the NHL resumes so these two teams I could definitely se getting postponed even further.
